CONTACTS:

A meeting was held the evening of November 12, 2003 in the Disabled American Veterans Hall 16 Chapter in Jacksonville, N.C. to guage interest in forming a local BVA chapter.
According to Richard L. Ray, retired gunnery sergeant, "I thought Jacksonville, home of the Beirut Memorial, should have a local BVA chapter.  I wanted to guage interst in the area."  Fourteen people showed up, Beirut veterans and the like and plans were put into place to put a chapter into operation.  The next meeting will be held in January to give local Beirut vets and associate members time to join the national orgainzation and then hold local elections then.  It's a small beginning, but from small acorns grow large trees.
