Cedar of Lebanon - Arlington Cemetery

October 23, 1984

Link. Image
A cedar of Lebanon planted to honor casualties of the 1983 bombing of Marine Corps barracks in Beirut stands over their graves in Burial Section 059. All around, flowering dogwoods -- the memorial tree most often planted at the request of families -- bloom their soft coral and cream bracts each spring.

The First Duty is to Remember

The BVA was established in 1992 by Beirut veterans who wanted a fraternal organization.
They are dedicated to keeping the memories alive of those comrades who paid the supreme sacrifice in supporting America’s quest for peace in Lebanon.
