On this, the 40th Anniversary year, the Capital Area Golf Tournament will honor the memory of the 220 Marines of 1st Battalion/8th Marines that lost their lives on 23 October 1983 when a suicide truck bomber attacked the U.S. Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon.
